You know that feeling you get when your best friend absolutely loves the birthday gift you got her? If your answer is no, cut back on re-gifting, and get back to us. But if you're thinking “I know exactly what you mean”, welcome to the club.
At Snagajob, we live for that feeling, because as hokey as it sounds, we really do think it's better to give than to receive. All Snaggers get a &aout;Community Work-Out&aout; day to use volunteering with the organization of their choosing, and as a company we've partnered with over 10 local organizations.
Here's the rundown on three of our closest partnerships:
The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke." The association's goal is to reduce risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Snagajob helps the AHA reach their goal by throwing our annual SnagADate fundraiser. This event raises over $10,000 by auctioning off themed date night packages.
Comfort Zone Camp (CZC) is the nation's largest bereavement camp. Comfort Zone Camps are offered free of charge to children ages 7-17 who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. The camps are held year-round in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Snagajob partners with CZC as a sponsor of their two annual fundraising events: The Benefit Gala and Fall Bash, as well as serving on their volunteer council. Snaggers serve as Big Buddies and chaperones during Comfort Zone Camps, fostering an environment where grieving children can have fun and break the isolation death often brings, while learning valuable coping skills for their daily lives.
Many, many other local and national organizations rely on the resources, time and energy Snaggers give to better the communities they live in. Here are a few more of the organizations Snagajob partners with.
