our roots

Chilling in the SnagAJob.com library.
When Shawn Boyer's friend asked him to go online to look for a summer internship back in the spring of 1999, little did he imagine that this favor would be the impetus for the creation of America's largest hourly job website. But, in fact, that's exactly what happened. After failing to find many sites geared toward internships, and nothing related to part-time and full-time hourly jobs, Shawn thought he must be missing something – someone had to be filling this huge need online, right? Not yet.
After several months of further research and consultation with his Magic 8 Ball, Shawn decided to leave the Washington, D.C. law firm where he worked as a transactional attorney, and nine months later we went live to the public.
From day one, SnagAJob.com's success was totally dependent upon the people within our company. We were very blessed to bring on a great group of core people in that first year, who are still central to SnagAJob.com's success today. And, we are very proud that our first major employer, 7-Eleven, is still a great client for us today.
"I have been using SnagAJob.com since 2001. Since then I have been extremely pleased with not only the excellent customer service that these people provide, but also the extraordinary amount of candidates that site has generated. With their expert ability to screen candidates according to our staffing needs, they eliminated a vast majority of these applicants, thereby saving me countless hours screening otherwise unqualified candidates."

our mission
We love hooking up the right people with the right jobs, and our success at doing just that is why we've been able to achieve nearly triple digit growth each year we've been in business. We've grown from an idea and an opportunity to the fifth largest job site in the country.
We believe with 100 percent of our being that the people within an organization are what drives its success, regardless of industry - whether it's a manufacturing plant or an accounting firm. That's why we're so passionate about putting people into the right fit jobs. Everyone reaps the benefits when this fit occurs. And that belief permeates through our entire organization - from the people on the SnagAJob.com team (aka, Snaggers) to each job seeker and the employers we interact with every day. It's all about the people.
our growth
The core mission and passion of our company haven't changed since our humble beginnings in a cozy 1,000-square-foot self storage unit, errr, office space in a medical office park in Norge, Virginia. Now our home is a funky 35,000-square-foot Silicon Valley-like complex overlooking a lake in Richmond, Virginia. Our headquarters comes complete with coffee bars, a library, showers, running trails, flat-panel TVs and a foosball table. And right next door, there's the SnagAJob.com Pavilion, where musical acts including the Black Crowes, Sara Evans and Lynyrd Skynyrd come to rock when the weather heats up.
And it's not just our facilities that have expanded. As SnagAJob.com continues to grow in order to meet the demand of America's hourly workforce, we continue to seek top talent and partner with more and more employers, from Fortune 500 companies to smaller business right around the corner from your house. In fact, not too long ago, SnagAJob.com's rapid and responsible growth caught the attention of an esteemed group of leading financing investors, including Adams Street Partners, Baird Venture Partners and C&B Capital.
our next chapter
As SnagAJob.com continues to evolve, we aspire to very lofty and specific goals for ourselves, all of which focus on making the hourly recruitment and hiring process the easiest and most enjoyable one possible for both our job seekers and employers. We will continue to ask you questions, listen to your feedback and initiate solutions for you. So, please continue to share feedback, so that we can help you more.
