Snagajob’s sixth-annual seasonal hiring report has been released, revealing what looks like a great holiday season for employers and job seekers. We surveyed over 1,000 hourly hiring managers to gain more insight into what this year’s seasonal hiring will have in store and discovered the number of available jobs are predicted to increase compared to last year.
What else did we find out? Read on for a few of the highlights from this year’s seasonal hiring survey:
More managers are hiring. Among hourly managers in charge of hiring employees to handle the seasonal rush, 69 percent expect to make hires this year. This percentage is up six points from last year.
More hires will be made. Hiring managers expect to hire an average of 7.8 seasonal hires; last year, the average was 6.1 seasonal hires.
Increase in hiring driven by potentially strong sales. When comparing the hiring managers who expect their fourth-quarter sales to be better than last year with those who expect sales to be worse, the survey shows a net score of +28, indicating an expected sales increase.
These are just a few of the forecasts from the 2013 seasonal hiring report, providing employers with the knowledge to help them prepare for one of the busiest seasons of the year.
