Hot summer hiring tips

After surveying 250 employers for our latest Summer Hiring Report, we collected enough data to provide job seekers with some great tips for finding work this season and help employers find the best applicants for their summer workforce.

Remember these fast facts we learned from our survey that will help you make the most of the season.

Start recruiting…now. Seventy-four percent of employers intend to fill their open summer positions by the end of May. Don’t miss out on the best applicants by waiting too long to start your search. Check your calendar and start your recruiting process as soon as possible.

Your next great hire should have a great attitude. As you interview candidates, keep an eye out for folks with big smiles, who express  a willingness to learn. A majority of surveyed employers believe that a positive attitude and eagerness to get the job are a more important characteristics than having previous experience.

Prepare for new faces. When it comes to the makeup of your summer workforce, employers expect 78 percent of summer hires will be new employees rather than returning employees. Go ahead and embrace new additions when staffing  up for the season.
