As the year comes to an end, people tend to look back and reflect. We’d rather look forward and share our excitement about what the new year will bring. So we interviewed a few of our resident hiring experts and got the inside scoop on what Snagajob has up its sleeve for 2014. Senior product manager James Barrett was pumped to chat about the evolving role of technology in the hiring process and stepping into a new hourly territory.
Incorporating new technology into recruiting. The product team is exploring which different technologies will be the greatest for strengthening the connection between employers and job seekers. “There are a lot of cool things being tested right now,” said Barrett. “We’re focused right now on how to best utilize the technology.”
Delivering self-service hiring software to customers. Employers have the ability to purchase software that gives them more control over various aspects of their jobs, including scheduling and payroll, but what about applicant tracking or new hire paperwork? Next year, Snagajob plans on delivering HR software in a self-service fashion, a new territory in the hourly marketplace. “We’re paving new roads in the software space by allowing our customers to purchase our products on their own,” Barrett said.
Helping employers get more applications. The recruiting process begins with a great job description and the product team has a new focus on helping employers create the best postings possible. This means determining which formula can result in more applicants. Sometimes the biggest adjustments make the biggest impact. “We’re going to take what works and duplicate it across the board,” Barrett said.
That’s just another taste of what the new year has to bring. Make sure to check back for more exclusive interviews on what Snagajob has in store for 2014. Happy hiring!
