Why you should be buying local

In case you haven’t noticed, we’re pretty excited to be an official supporter of Small Business Saturday®. Being part of a movement devoted to creating awareness about small businesses and what they contribute to the their communities is an opportunity Snagajob couldn’t miss.

Of course, there are plenty of other ways to support Small Business Saturday, including stepping out to in your community to Shop Small®. Whenever you spend money at a small business, it’s like making an investment in where you live. The American Express Open Forum blog shared an extensive infographic that explains the different ways that shopping locally is having your money “reinvested into local schools, jobs, taxes, wages and other communal needs.”

Click here and head to Open Forum for an engaging comparison of how local shops and chain store purchases are redistributed into the neighborhood.

Support your local small businesses and community by going out and shopping small on Small Business Saturday, November 30, 2013.
