Secret’s out: Americans declare their love for food delivery drivers
Apparently, the fastest way to a man or woman’s heart really is through the stomach. In a recent online poll from Snagajob, America’s largest hourly employment network for job seekers and employers, food delivery drivers were named the most beloved hourly worker.
Revealing an interesting trend related to door-to-door delivery, Americans named their UPS/FedEx driver as their second favorite hourly worker.
“Whether it’s our hectic schedules, inclement weather or simply because we don’t want to leave the house, the hourly worker who makes our lives a little easier, and more delicious, holds the biggest spot in our hearts,” said Jason Hamilton, vice president of marketing for Snagajob.
Despite preparing our morning pick-me-ups and happy hour libations, baristas and bartenders ranked third and fourth, respectively. Based on the hourly worker professions cited, Americans appear to be the least smitten with their mechanic.
The poll was conducted from Jan. 14 through Jan. 31, 2013, with more than 1,100 respondents.
