Snag-A-Scholarship Twitter contest announced by Snagajob
Contest puts current college students one tweet away from winning $500
to help pay for college books for a semester
RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 20, 2014 – How has your hourly paying job prepared you for college? That is the million dollar question, or in this case, the $500 question. Snagajob, America’s largest hourly employment marketplace for job seekers and employers, is launching its inaugural “Snag-A-Scholarship” Twitter contest.
The contest, which will run on Snagajob’s Twitter page (@Snagajob) from Jan. 20 – Jan. 24, offers current college students in America the chance to lighten the burden of tuition costs by awarding 10 deserving contest winners with $500 to put towards their books for a semester.
To enter the “Snag-A-Scholarship” Twitter contest, students must follow and tweet to @Snagajob their best answer to the question, “How has your hourly paying job prepared you for college?” All submissions must be 140 characters or less and include the hashtag #SnagBooks.
“Snagajob supports an individual’s pursuit of maximizing their potential and higher education is a terrific step in that pursuit,” said Kim Costa, job coach at Snagajob. “This contest was designed to reward hard working college students who have benefited from working an hourly position at some point in their life.”
A judging panel made up of Snagajob representatives has been assembled and will evaluate the strength of each contestant’s entry based on the creativity of the tweet and its overall quality in answering the contest question, “How has your hourly paying job prepared you for college?”
Winners will be notified by 5:00 p.m. EST on Jan. 27, via a direct tweet from @Snagajob. All prizes will be issued in the form of a check and mailed to each winner’s requested mailing address.
