District Sales Manager

Sears Hometown Stores, a member of the Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD) family of companies, is a unique retailing concept that combines the feel and exceptional customer service of a small community store with the wide assortment of tools, appliances, electronics and lawn & garden merchandise offered by Sears, Roebuck, and Co. stores. This unique format allows customers in small communities to have access to the great products and brands usually only found in Sears stores.

The District Sales Coach leads the sales and P&L financial performance of a district consisting of 10-14 stores that generates $20-30m+ in annual revenues. This includes the planning and directing of all sales, customer service and dealer owner relationships as well as merchandise sales, credit, other miscellaneous revenues, expense management and achievement of profitable revenue goals. The DSC has the skill sets that will enable achievement of district business objectives. This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Coach, Dealer Stores.

Skill/Experience Requirements
• Three to five years of service or retail business experience with a minimum of three years of management experience. Previous multi-unit experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
• Effective relationship building skills. Ability to influence and get work done through others.
• Proven track record to lead change in a growth, turnaround, or transitional business.
• Strong analytical skills and written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience utilizing process leadership to drive standardization and improvement in business results.
• Direct experience with serving customers (internal and external).
• Position may require extensive travel (50%-80%) depending on market geography

Qualifications:
Responsibilities
• Learns how to lead change in a highly transitional business format that includes the introduction of new stores, growth initiatives and turn-around business opportunities.
• Learns how to plan and direct all sales, customer service and dealer owner relations in a multi unit environment with responsibility for top-line and bottom-line district performance with P&L responsibility.
• High level of customer focus (Dealer Owner customer and end-user customer) and the ability to frequently meet with dealer owners and customers in the front-line. Strong relationship building skills to ensure excellent communication between dealer owners and the field/Sears Home Office.
• Responsible for execution of the Monthly Sales Plans and sales stimulation activities. Ensures that high merchandise presentation and marketing standards are delivered consistently.
• Ensures consistent execution of operational processes and understands P&L financial accountability, which includes expense management, inventory shrink, and meeting facility maintenance standards.
• Learns how to optimize other miscellaneous revenue opportunities by meeting and achieving standards in Protection Agreements, Credit, Installation, and Delivery.
• Demonstrates high performance leadership to drive sales growth and to meet market share objectives in both new and existing businesses.
• Proactively identifies opportunities to improve and develop action plans based on regular analysis of business performance, store competitor visits, and through input from the dealer owner teams.
• Fully embraces the CCE selling process and customer for life value proposition.
• Builds knowledge in merchandise presentation standards, operational execution, and general management leadership competencies.
• Understands how to communicate to home office merchandise and marketing teams on competitive activities/trends and other local market issues.
• Learns how to interact with the Market Development team to ensure successful store openings, closings, and remodels within the district.
• Accurately and passionately represents Sears Dealer Owners to Sears.
• Represents Sears Dealer Stores to all Sears partners within the district and within the local communities.
