Dairy / Frozen Clerk
The Dairy/Frozen Clerk is responsible for keeping all dairy and frozen cases stocked and clean during business hours as well as ensure product quality and selection. They are required to assist customers as needed and maintain a friendly, energetic demeanor at all times. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Grocery Department.
Responsibilities
- Stocks dairy/frozen department; includes facing, filling and organization of all product items as well as ensuring tag and pricing accuracy. Requires operating and using equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Cleans dairy/frozen aisles, storage area and work area for safety; includes cleaning of shelves and products, keeping floors free of liquid spills or water, removing hazardous debris from floor and sweeping.
- Assists customers throughout their shift with purchases, information and product selection; requires selling and cross selling of products. Overall customer service includes greeting, listening and helping customers in any way possible.
- Receives and inspects all frozen/dairy department products; includes verifying orders against invoices, reporting shortages and claims to ensure proper billing, breaking down loads and dating products.
Requirements
- Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
- Must be able to work under high volume conditions with little to no supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with customers, peers and senior management.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations.
- Must have excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Must have basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
- Must have manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to support and contribute to team goals.
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and stack objects of varying dimensions and weighing up to 50 pounds.
