
Flex Officer Program Objectives:
1. Establish a career path to further growth within the company.
2. Staff new accounts until permanent Security Officers can be hired.
3. Provide security for short-term special events.
4. Fill in for officers while on vacation/sick/no call-no show.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
An employee accepting a position as a Flex Officer will:
• Be able to obtain reliable transportation 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
• Be willing/able to work 2 shifts (i.e. grave/swing, day/grave, etc) and at least 6 days per week. Flex Officers will have up to 2 days off per week to be determined by the Scheduling/Branch Manager and based on the weekly workload and business need.
• Accept any assignment request/offer. Failure to accept any assignment request/offer may result in a reduction of hours worked per week. **Please see four (4) hour notice below.
• Flex Officers will carry a Company pager, cell phone or Nextel to be turned on during established on-call hours. During on-call hours Flex Officers are not compensated. During on-call hours Flex Officers have no geographic restrictions and no required response times. Flex Officers may use on call time as they choose. However, if possible, it is appreciated(but not required) that Flex Officers respond via telephone within 20 minutes, or as soon thereafter as possible, of being paged or called. The pager/cell phone may be turned off during the prearranged days off per week, but it is appreciated (but not required) that the pager be left on so that only in emergency purposes the Flex Officer can be reached. Response to pages during the prearranged days off per week is not required.

• Answer agreed upon phone number during established shift time (on-call hours).
• Notify their supervisor if they are unable, for whatever reason, to respond to an assignment within a minimum of four (4) hours notice. NOTE: A call-off or policy violation may result in a reduction of hours (see above) for that pay period.
• Have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license. NOTE: Completion of the Securitas Safe Driving course offered by the company is a prerequisite of working as a Flex Officers and must be accomplished prior to starting Flex Officer duties.
• During working shifts, maintain regular communication with the Branch/Scheduling Manager. Flex Officers must call in to the Branch/Scheduling Manager at least once per shift. The Branch/Scheduling Manager is responsible for giving assignments to the Flex Officer.
Essentials Functions:
• Support manpower requirements at accounts during shortages due to vacations, call-offs, no shows, suspensions, holidays, etc.
• Assist in the smooth start up of a new account to include: working the site, writing post orders and training checklists and training newly assigned permanent Security Officers.
• Work special security assignments as required.
• Expect to work on weekends and holidays with limited notice, and work during “high need” periods.
