Title: Inpatient Coder
Location: NM-Las Vegas (Santa Fe region)

Responsible for the review of patient records and accurate assignment of ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and HCPC codes. The subsequent verification of charges and documentation to provide the appropriate APC and/or DRG. Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work under pressure with time constraints. Written and oral communication skills are necessary. Knowledge of ethics and compliance are necessary. Computer skills are needed. Two years experience as a coder. A CCS and or RHIT is preferred.
Requires: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have completed a course in Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy and Physiology.
