McAlister’s Deli is now hiring, energetic, dedicated people to join our team. We offer a fun environment with competitive compensation, and opportunities for advancement. Our restaurant is non-alcoholic and non-smoking, we do not offer a drive thru, and our menu consists of high-quality sandwiches, extra large baked potatoes, soups, salad, desserts, and our famous sweet tea, none of which require grease!
This position requires the ability to:
- Answer phone and handle in bound calls
- Sell, prepare, and serve food and beverages according to standard recipes and procedures
- Prep, portion, and stock/restock assigned items
- Perform opening and closing duties
- Do all tasks necessary to maintain the overall cleanliness of restaurant, which includes the restrooms and garbage removal
- Provide exceptional customer service, by greeting and serving guests, and maintaining up-to-date product knowledge
- Make change and learn how to use a POS (point of sale) computer to ring sales
- Fulfill dine-in, to–go and call-in orders
Job requirements:
- Minimum age 16
- Prep Position age 18 (OSHA Requirements)
- Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs
- Walk and stand entire shifts (which could be up to 8 hours)
- Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry and wipe
- Ability to come in contact with a variety of food items, including potential common allergens such as peanut oils and seafood
- Part-time; 10 - 30 hours per week
- Ability to read product labels, menu items, order tickets printed in English
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively in English with guests
