Job Description :
POSITION SUMMARY:As a Technologist for the Microbiology department, you will perform all functions of Microbiology specimen processing and testing.RESPONSIBILITIES:You will be able to perform in a professional manner the following:
* specimen processing and culture inoculation;
* interpretation and reporting results from routine , anaerobe, AFB, fungal and viral cultures;
* urinalysis testing; and
* non-culture testing and reporting such as Gram stains, Ova & Parasite exams, rapid antigen testing.REQUIREMENTS:You must be a certified (ASCP or equivalent) Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent. You must possess knowledge of sterile techniques, Gram stain procedures, routine bacteriology, virology and urinalysis testing. Clinical Microbiology Laboratory experience is desired.
