District Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary:
Responsible for training store Housekeeping Associates on cleaning and maintaining in good condition: floors,fixtures, restrooms, all other interior areas of the store, and general maintenance of the store exterior. Make needed repairs such as floor tile replacement, painting/patching of walls or arrange repairs with Regional Maintenance Coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities:
Housekeeping:
•
Trains and develops housekeeping staff in the District to help ensure and maintain cleanliness standards of all stores within the District. Trains individual Supervisors on how to properly use maintenance equipment and chemicals according to Company standards.
•
Help maintain various floor types per Company procedures and standards, vacuums and extracts carpeted areas, vacuums and maintains register areas, fitting rooms and offices.
Maintenance:
•
Trains store Housekeeping Associates on replacing light bulbs, assembles and/or repairs fixtures and equipment as needed. Replaces cracked floor tiles and stained or damaged ceiling tiles. Performs minor repairs to fitting rooms, installs corner guards, kick plates, and wall bases where needed. Maintains floor care equipment. Repairs and cleans shopping carts. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Identifies maintenance needs and promptly reports needs to HR/Operations Assistant Manager and Regional Maintenance Coordinator.
Supervision:
•
Assists stores in hiring and retaining housekeeping staff in the district.
• Assigns tasks and directs workflow to Housekeeping Associates and communicates policies and procedures to Housekeeping Associates, orientates and trains new Housekeeping Associates. Provides input to Supervisor on Associate reviews. Communicates issues and/or safety concerns immediately to District Manager, store HR/Operations Assistant Manager and Regional Maintenance Coordinator.

Conducts monthly operational audits in each store within District. Works with outside contractors to perform work in the store where requested and be abreast of work that is being completed. Ensures e-mails or memos from the Corporate Office are covered with all stores. Works with stores to maintain budget. Sets up new stores in District as they open, including training new Associates and Management.
Other duties and responsibilities:
•
Checks compactors and roof once a month to ensure working order. Ensures outside of building is maintained, i.e. parking lot, parking lot striping, landscaping, sidewalks, trash, etc.
•
Performs/assists with other duties as assigned. Examples may include, but are not limited to,revamping of stores, replacing entire ceiling area, construction on new doorways and walls.
Preferred Qualifications:
•
Prior housekeeping or building and equipment maintenance experience in other retail or office environments.
•
Prior supervisory experience in one of the above work environments.
Job Requirements:
•
Knowledge of renovating various hard floor types, marble, and VCT.
•
Ability to resolve special projects in the District, such as replacing tiles, marble floor, carpet, electrical, plumbing, etc.
•
Ability to conduct minor repairs to housekeeping equipment.
•
General knowledge of the Maintenance field.
•
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
•
Ability to spend up to 100% of work time moving around the store. Physical activities include pushing power-cleaning equipment, using hand tools and cleaning equipment (i.e.: mops, brooms, snow shovels, etc.), bending, stooping, climbing, reaching and lifting on a frequent basis.
•
Ability to perform some duties routinely on the night shift. These duties may include, but are not limited to: carpet extraction, stripping and waxing floors, and crystallizing marble floors.
•
Adherence to Company policy and procedures is required.
•
Regular attendance is required.
