Loss Prevention Supervisor
Position Summary:

Administers theft prevention programs for the store. Develops and implements store awareness programs

addressing theft, safety and inventory control. Monitors store’s compliance with Company policies and procedures on theft prevention, safety and inventory control. Directs workflow and supervises Loss Prevention Officers and Door Greeters. Orients and trains new Loss Prevention Associates.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Safety and Inventory Control:

 

Conducts audits of operational and shortage control procedures to monitor shortage performance trends.

 

Reviews exception reporting to identify and resolve shortage opportunities

 

Conducts safety and fire inspections to monitor store’s compliance with Company policies and procedures on safety.

 

Conducts periodic evacuation/fire drills and alarm tests in the store.


Theft Prevention:
 

Develops and implements theft prevention and shortage control programs for the store; participates in store safety and shortage control meetings. Informs Supervisors and other appropriate management of store shortage issues.

 

Monitors register variances and works with Store Management to address procedural errors and dishonesty of Associates.

 

Conducts internal investigations of dishonesty in compliance with Company Ethical Standards and Apprehension Guidelines.

 

Conducts surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with Company Ethical Standards and Apprehension Guidelines.

 

Develops and maintains knowledge and use of surveillance equipment.

 

Conducts check and credit card fraud investigations.


Supervision and Operations
 

Assigns tasks and supervises Loss Prevention Associates; communicates policies and procedures to LP Associates; orients and trains new LP Associates.

 

Leads loss prevention orientation during new hire orientation. Communicates with department associates.

 

Coaches and counsels LP Associates; assist in writing performance appraisals. Maintains documentation on disciplinary counseling of LP Associates.

 

Accurately completes all statistical and incident reports. Maintains all apprehension/investigation records according to Company standards.

 

Writes work schedules for LP Associates; ensures work schedules provide proper coverage and are within the payroll expense plan.

 

Consistently communicates with Store Management team.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
 

Performs other duties as assigned. Examples may include, but are not limited to: assisting the District Loss Prevention Manager recruit and hire Loss Prevention Officers; assisting in Loss Prevention functions in other stores; attending court hearings on Kohl’s behalf; collecting public record information from local law enforcement agencies; assisting in the preparation and taking of inventory.

 

Completes monthly overnight or early morning surveillance.

 

May have multiple store responsibilities.

 

Maintains customer service awareness.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
 

Prior experience in Loss Prevention is required. Prior supervisory experience in retail loss prevention is preferred.

 

Knowledge of surveillance and apprehension techniques; demonstrated ability to make decisions in stressful situations.

 

Job Requirements:
 

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.

 

Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving about the departments within the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.

 

Adherence to Company policy and procedures is required. Follows required dress code.

 

Regular attendance is required.
