We are looking for experienced Cooks who have high standards and believe that the care they provide is invaluable. The ideal candidates will meet expectations for delivering customer acquisitions and retention, quality food service, financial management, operational compliance, and other responsibilities as well as demonstrates expected behaviors.
Requirements for this position include:
• Prepares and presents quality snacks and lunches
• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically
• Orders food and supplies
• Dispenses medication, as requested
• Complies with KLC and all governmental regulations regarding the care of children
• Understands responsibilities as a mandated reporter
• Maintains records in compliance with CACFP guidelines and requirements
• Keeps the Director informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of children
• Completes timely and accurate documentation according to KLC and other licensing and regulation requirements
• Assists and accepts responsibility in other daily center duties that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, center events, and parent/customer meetings as requested
• Familiarity with proper conditions and food storage
• Ability to plan nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantity of food for center population
• Ability to understand and follow special food plans for food-allergic children or children with other food service special needs
• Ability to understand food cross-contamination needs of food allergic children and ability to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance
• Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating service portions
