Janitor - Full-time / Part-time

We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Janitor.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Janitor

Position Summary:

The Custodian has the responsibility for performing cleaning tasks under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and performing at a level that meets or exceeds the quality guidelines of the work site.

Essential Functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Ensuring security of assigned keys, supplies and equipment
• Performing daily and periodic cleaning tasks
• Picking up and removing trash
• Sweeping and mopping hard floors
• Vacuuming carpeted areas
• Cleaning glass, chrome fixtures, and metalwork
• Cleans corridors, doors, walls, and elevators.
• Cleaning and disinfecting bathroom sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, stalls, and floors
• Dusts furniture, equipment, and other spaces
• Empty trash
• Maintaining satisfactory standards of professional conduct and appearance.
• Ensuring high level of customer service by solving problems raised by the customer.
• Immediately informing Operations Supervisor of customer and employee relations issues.
• Efficiently utilizing time to ensure all required deadlines are met.
• Assisting in on-going quality assurance program, including regular review of inspections, documenting findings, and implementing continuous quality improvement programs.
• Providing appropriate role modeling for assigned staff in personal hygiene and uniform wearing as required by Contract.

Experience:

• 1 yr Custodial experience desired

Skills & Abilities:

• Able to work effectively and diplomatically with contract site personnel
• Demonstrated ability to work in cooperation with team members, staff, and customers
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
• Able to pass a pre-employment criminal background and other applicable prescreens.
• Sight is essential to the job
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and NWC safety policies
• Consistently lift push and pull minimum 50 pounds
• Frequently engages in heavy work which requires, in addition to those activities listed above, being active and the feet for duration of shift, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching above the head, and climbing.
