CDL-A Driver

Must be able to work a 4 day work week Mon. - Fri and at least one overnight route per week.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, perform daily safety inspections on trucks (pre-trip), make timely deliveries, maintain customer relations, fill out all required paperwork ( including DOT log books ). 

EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Check tires, lights and all other safety measures on trucks/trailers before leaving warehouse; make sure you have all your invoices and manifest, make sure you have your hand truck; make sure trucks/trailers are locked at all times when you are not in it; unload and verify the merchandise being delivered with the invoice and with the customer; make sure that the customer is satisfied with invoice count; work with the customer of where the merchandise is to be placed at time of delivery; make sure merchandise is in good condition at check in time; write credit memo's for shortages, damages or returns only from invoice/merchandise being delivered; collect for all COD deliveries and make sure all monies are accounted for; check in all returns with the warehouse personnel; keep trucks clean.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARD

Education should be sufficient formal or informal to ensure the ability to read, write and perform mathmatical functions at the level required for successful job performance.

DRIVING KNOWLEDGE / REQUIREMENTS

Must have a Class A , CDL license and health card as required by DOT. Lifting requirements are that the individual must be able to remove the pull-out ramp used to off load merchandise with hand truck to take into customer locations. Weight of merchandise will vary depending upon item but generally the most weight will be approximately 50 lbs.

SKILL

Must be able with experience to drive and back trucks properly and safely.

Must provide excellent customer service.
