Host/Hostess
Responsibilities:
- Providing prompt, efficient, courteous service to all guests
- Greeting guests with a smile as they enter the restaurant and seating them as soon as a table is available; maintaining a wait list as necessary
- Rotating station seating to ensure the quality of guest service
- Handling guest complaints in a timely manner, inquiring about the quality of a guest’s dining experience, thanking guests and inviting them to return
- Taking register readings, handling cash in an accurate and responsible manner, making interim cash reports, and handling frequent cash drops, able to complete credit card transactions
- Checking restrooms hourly to ensure adequate stocking and cleanliness as well as performing any other assigned cleaning duties
- Answering the telephone, taking messages
- Maintaining guest check in numerical orders
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
- Food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience preferred
- Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
- Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
- Hourly wage plus tips
- Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
