DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential job duties must be safely performed with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to other employees, residents, patients, guest, visitor, and volunteers.

1. Maintain inventory and inform supervisor of need to activity related supplies. Restock supplies in activity department.

2. Be active and aware of local activities, alert supervisor of any appropriate activities for our residents.

3. Report van mileage in the appropriate log and expense reports as required.

4. Insurable and capable of driving 15 passengers company van and /or automobile. Be well acquainted with community, city, and county roads as well as highways and interstate.

5. Computer literate or able to learn basic computer skills.

6. Contact regularly scheduled volunteers to verify schedule dates and times.

7. Assist in recruitment of new volunteers.

8. Assist residents in maintaining a seasonal vegetable and flower gardens as an outdoor activity.

9. Maintains monthly bulletin boards.

10. Assist with any assigned office duty (filing/research).

11. Take photos of new residents for identification purposes and activities.

12. Alert the Welcome Committee of new resident arrival.

13. Provide a Birthday card for each resident on his or her birthday.

14. Send Thank-you cards to volunteers.

15. Act as announcer at volunteer performances in absence of supervisor.

16. Arrange and replace furnishings at the beginning and end of activities.

17. Attend professional meetings, in-service trainings.

18. Responsible for knowing and following all Cornerstone Village policies and procedures and the State of Tennessee Department of Health Regulations.

19. Learn to supervise daily fitness classes as required by supervisor.

20. Take residents on outings.

21. Must be able to train and to work with both Assisted Living and Memory Care Residents.

22. Assist with activities based on a mind, body, spirit concept, utilizing the seven components of wellness.

23. Follow scheduled activity calendar, able to improvise and manage time.

24. Adhere to OSHA and TOSHA regulations including Universal Precaution and Infection Control Procedures.

25. Comply with all aspects of operations, including personnel practices, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Cornerstone Village, federal and state regulations.

26. Serve as an ambassador of Cornerstone Village upholding the mission and core values.

Requirements

EDUCATION



High school degree or equivalent. Computer literate or willing to learn basic computer skills. Knowledge of and experience with various filing systems, typing and proofreading a plus. Prefer candidate with a minimum of one-year experience working hands on with senior population.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:




  • To be able to lift up to 45 lbs.

  • To be able to reach, bend, kneel and squat

  • To be able to walk and stand on a repetitive and constant basis.

  • To be able to use step stools.

  • To be able to hear call system, pager signals and spoken English language.

  • To be able to wear protective gloves supplied by the facility.

  • To be able to be in contact with domestic pets.

  • To be able to safely drive car and/or 15 passenger van and have own transportation
