JOB SUMMARY:
- Under general supervision, plans, directs and completes medical assessments in an child care setting
- Responsible for training and managing of Sniffles & Snuggles personnel
- Ensures compliance with all internal/external agencies policies and procedures, including reviewing and approving IEP’s for children
- Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with center personnel as well Corporate personnel; participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading policies and procedures for Sniffles & Snuggles program
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identifies problems and guides personnel to the appropriate solution
- Maintains acceptable standards of mildly ill children care
- Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction for personnel
- Administers medications skillfully and correctly
- Maintains the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting
- Arranges to have needed supplies and equipment on hand
- Participates in planning changes and improvements
- Participates in Center Safety program
- Is resourceful and calm in emergencies
- Keeps Center Director informed of children’s needs
- Evaluates the performance of personnel with recommendations for appropriate action
- Assists in reviewing and revising policies and procedures for Sniffles & Snuggles
- Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality
- Displays concern for any child’s needs
- Is prompt and efficient with minimal absences
- Cooperates and maintains a good rapport with center and corporate personnel as well as any visitors
- Is considered a member of management of the Center and is responsible for those responsibilities on an as-needed basis

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Licensed Practical Nurse with current state license
- Two years of nursing experience

REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or spreadsheet form
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision
- Ability to lift 60 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to work overtime and odd schedules
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Requirements
This person must be a licensed LPN and have experience working with children. This will involve some classroom work as well.
