Cashier/Clerk - Full-time

Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to maintain helpful customer service, process sales transactions quickly and accurately, assist in the merchandising, stocking, and promotion of our various departments.
Major Responsibilities:
Ensure each customer receives outstanding service.
Greet customers as they enter the store.
Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers.
Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
Accurately and efficiently process cash, credit card, and check Sales Transactions, as well as customer returns and refunds.
Promote the sales of birding supplies such as bird feeders, bird feed, and related inventory.
Maintain an orderly appearance of the register area and Backyard Bird Dept.
Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Training: High School Degree, some college preferred.
Experience in a retail environment either as a cashier, insales or back office.
Knowledge of retail computer systems and Windows based PC's.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a stong willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store which entails lifting, bending and twisting.
