Created in April 2011, Melt Shop is an up and coming fast casual restaurant specializing in serving high-end products, including our groundbreaking approach to recreating the world’s most famous sandwich, the grilled cheese. Our main location is based in Midtown Manhattan and has gained widespread notoriety by the press and customers alike, for our one of a kind variations of the grilled cheese, our hand-crafted milkshakes, and irresistible tater tots.

Melt Shop is a small, yet rapidly expanding company. The work environment at Melt Shop is defined by its fast-paced, fun-loving, and entrepreneurial culture that encourages every team member to take initiative and grow with our company by providing feedback about their work experience and offering all that they can to improve both themselves and our restaurant. Melt Shop is a multiunit concept and is growing at a rapid pace. We currently have four stores open, with a fifth and sixth under construction. We are currently in need of more great leaders to join our amazing team and take part in the growth of a great original concept.
 

Job Description – General Manager

• We are looking for General Managers who are capable of handling the overall responsibility of directing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation. This will include product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management, financial accountability and most importantly ensuring that the highest quality of products and services are delivered to each customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain fast, accurate service, positive guest relations and ensuring products are consistent with Melt Shop quality standards
• Ensure Occupational Safety & Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy are met. Must maintain an “A” health inspection rating at all times
• Manage Profit & Loss by following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions
• Manage Food and Labor Costs, keeping them to the level specified by management
• Conduct performance appraisals, take disciplinary action, motivate and train employees, while maintaining a high level of store morale
• Ensure food quality and 100% customer satisfaction
• Manage cash and deposits with precision
• Manage Food Inventory; Ordering and Receiving
• Manage employee scheduling
