We have an immediate opening for a Litigation Attorney Lawyer / Plaintiffs' Employment Discrimination.

Must be able to work at least 5 shifts per week and be available weekdays.

DESCRIPTION: Thank you for your interest. This position is for a Litigation Associate Attorney in a very busy plaintiffs' employment discrimination boutique law firm in downtown Long Beach. QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer 3.6+ college GPA and 3.3+ law school GPA and 1+ years litigation experience. Past positions of responsibility of any type a plus. A track record of turning obstacles into opportunities also a good trait. HOW TO APPLY: Email resume with college and law school GPA's JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Attorney handles 20-30 plaintiffs' employment discrimination cases at any one time, with 1-2 legal assistants. Attorney's typical WEEKLY tasks proven to maximize case value for our clients are as follows. Performance is measured and reported back to each lawyer about every six weeks based on the following objective criteria, and appropriate adjustments expected. (1) Prepare a list of 15-25 facts for client to memorize and articulate in advance of client's deposition, and collect about 20 exhibits, and spend at least 2 hours preparing client for deposition; (2) Call witnesses 90 minutes per day when not in deposition and maintain an average of one and one-half supportive, signed witness statements per case; (3) In two 3-4 hour sessions, review a few hundred pages of document productions and select about 20 documents to use as potential deposition exhibits, in each of two cases; (4) After attorney takes depositions prepare a list of fact-specific document requests to the adverse party and identifies additional persons to depose, in each of two cases; (5) Interview new client for at least 2 hours and create a 2-6 page timeline of facts and draft a complaint; (6) Review discovery requests and responses in 1-2 cases; (7) Meet all legal deadlines; Avoid getting caught up in emails, scheduling issues and debates with opposing counsel and other minutiae that take time away from the above priorities, which priorities protect and add value to Client's case.
