Labor Ready is currently hiring a House Person in Roggen, CO. The house person under the direction of the Ranch Manager, will be cleaning and maintaining the pullet houses.  They operate the machinery and equipment inside the pullet house.

 

Job Duties:

 1) Mortality - The employee must be able to pull dead chickens from the cages inside the poultry house.  The employee must be able to count and write down the number of dead birds found every day.

 2) Bird Welfare - The employee must be able to look for water in watering cups.  The employee must be able to sense changes in temperature and air quality.  The employee must be able to tell if there is feed in front of the birds. 

 3) Manure Management - The employee must be able to run the manure belts to unload manure from the houses.  The employee must be able to pick up manure inside the houses.  The employee must be able to recognize fly pupa and identify fly breeding inside the houses.

 4) The employee must be able to lift 40-60 pounds. 

 5) Safety - Performs all tasks to ensure personal safety, safety of others, and protection of the Center and its equipment. ▪ Functional mobility and physical strength consistent with the essential job functions, but not limited to the ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, kneel, bend, twist, lift, carry, push, pull, and maintain balance in awkward positions ▪ Ability to understand written and verbal instructions, directions, schedules, policies and procedures ▪ Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.  The house person works in a variety of areas, inclusive of, but not limited to:  1)  60° to 100° poultry houses, 2) Outside ▪ Average work day is 10 hours ▪ 

  

PROCESSING: Set up packers properly to produce required product.  Set up proper code dates on dater equipment.  Keep egg packers supplied with proper packaging material.  Change packaging material as required by order run sheets.  Ensure proper operation of egg packers throughout work shift.  Maintain sanitary conditions in your work area. Lift approximately 10-25 lbs. ▪ Bending and stooping to adjust egg packers ▪ Be able to maintain fast pace. Attention to detail.  Ability to comply with HACCP and GMP programs. Previous experience helpful. SCHEDULE - Must be willing to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. Overtime for this position is paid after 40 hours per week

- Physically able to stand, jump, bend, reach and lift 50 lbs continuously during 8+hour shift in fast pace environment

- Willing to submit to a background check and drug screen

 Pay rate is $9.50 per hour

Shifts: Average work week is 6 days.  Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays. Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. No overtime is paid for this position falls within the Agriculture Exemption Rule.
