Foresight Research is a small dynamic marketing research firm headquartered in Rochester, Michigan, specializing in marketing communications and experiential marketing for clients in the automotive, marine and other industries. Foresight's Auto Show Practice Group is a recognized leader in measuring the effectiveness of auto shows as an experiential marketing channel. 

During the US auto show season (October to April) Foresight conducts onsite surveys at approximately 10 auto shows in large and medium markets across the country. We now seek a dedicated, responsible, energetic and independent Field Supervisor to lead our onsite interviewing team during the 2013-14 auto show season. This role is fixed term (Oct 2013 - April 2014) and part-time (approx 5 days per show), chiefly on weekends but can include Fridays and Mondays depending on show schedule and other factors.

The Auto Show Field Supervisor is responsible for the onsite supervision and execution of surveys at each show. He/she is accountable for ensuring that each show's project is completed successfully (on-schedule, on-budget and with all quality and production targets achieved). The Field Supervisor travels to each show city for 3-4 days to train, supervise and manage a team of locally-hired interviewers who conduct surveys at the show (via hand-held tablets). As such, the the Field Supervisor's duties are primarily onsite in the show's city (often Friday morning - Sunday night, although this varies) but also includes some pre-show preparations and some post-show administration (which may be done from our offices in Rochester or remotely). However, some meetings will be required in our offices.

For each show, the specific duties of the Field Supervisor include:
- Working ahead of time with the Field Manager to ensure all preparations are made for the show (local temporary staff are hired, training materials prepared, travel arrangements made, materials and computer equipment are shipped or brought via checked luggage, etc.).
- Travelling to the host city and ensuring onsite preparations are complete
- Liaison with local temporary staffing partner to ensure delivery and appropriateness of interviewing staff
- Training and preparation of staff
- Supervision of staff to achieve production and scheduling targets
- Data checking and verification that survey quality and accuracy standards are achieved
- Managing the company computer equipment (packing & unpacking tablets & recharging each day, securing overnight)
- Controlling, securing and managing company data assets (interviewing software, collected data)
- Electronically delivering completed data files back to corporate offices.
- Administration (temporary staff payroll records, travel expenses, show summary report)

This position requires a dedicated and reliable leader who is capable of training and supervising a team of locally hired temporary workers over a 3-4 day assignment. The successful candidate will be:
- Flexible in availability 
- Reliable and dependable
- Able to travel across the US & Canada for 3-5 days at a time, often several sequential weekends 
- A solid project manager and supervisor of temporary workers
- A strong problem-solver and organizer
- Knowledgeable / experienced with survey research and data collection principals and standards
- Dedicated to achieving all targets (productivity, quality, scheduling)
- Able to use and supervise the usage of data collection software and tablet hardware (including troubleshooting onsite technical problems). Training will be provided
