About this job
The Sofitel server is a well groomed, articulate person with a minimum of two years
previous serving experience in an upscale, high end restaurant or 4 diamond hotel.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
Candidate will be responsible for welcoming guests into the restaurant, explaining menu items and take food orders, serve food and beverage according to the standards and set up the restaurant for service.
Provide a personalized service according to guests' individual wishes,
Bring dishes to the table and clear dinner plates, serving dishes and cutlery after use
Prepare and set tables for the next guests,
Ensure the food service area is left clean and tidy once all guests have left.
The server also forms the continuous link between the kitchen and the dinning room
Knowledge Skill & Experience:
The ideal candidate must have at least one year previous experience with Micros or two years experience with a comparable restaurant software system. Their experience must also include: opening and closing shifts at their previous employer, table and wine service, knowledge of food and wine pairing and high end liquors and aperitifs
Employees must possess the following qualities in order to be successful in their position:
Must have and maintain a professional appearance for our Luxury Hotel
Must be a team player and enjoy working on and with teams
Proactive approach when interacting with guest, co-worker or vendor
Must have 2 years minimum experience as a server within a similar type property
Computer skills are a plus
Servesafe Certification required
Tips certification is an advantage

Delivers checks promptly to the line (though micros) so that orders can be prepared within the prescribed time.
Picks up orders and delivers orders to guests
