We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, service-orientated Reservations Sales Agent to assist potential guests with accommodation inquiries and reservations. Excellent phone skills, computer skills and a customer service background a must. Postion is full-time, 2nd shift (3p - 11p).

RESERVATIONS SALES AGENT JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY: Obtains hotel accommodations and arrangements for potential guests by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. As a team member of the Chattanooga Choo Choo, everyone is expected to be willing to extend his or herself beyond the scope of his/ her duties when needed.

-Obtains verification of lodging space and rate information of the hotel.
-Makes appropriate reservations in regards to single, multiple, or group information.
-Confirms all information from potential guest (i.e., name, arrival and departure dates, address, credit card information).
-Establishes set up for any special or VIP requests for daily guest arrivals.
-Prepares and pre-assigns a room list for all special hotel reservation packages.
-Mails all reservation, package information, and hotel brochures.
-Provides information pertaining to the hotel complex, local attractions, and area directions.
-Assists the Front Desk and PBX as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D.). One to two years related experience and/ or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, and ratios.

REASONING ABILITY:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, oral, mathematical or diagram form. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
