Job Description:

The Market Sales Manager is the only associate with direct daily responsibility over the Meat Department and is often the only associate in the Meat Department for long time periods. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position contributes to and ensures achievement of proper Meat Market conditions. Serves as a role model for customer service and other vital behaviors, and instills this value to all associates. 

Responsibilites: 

  • Training, scheduling, and supervision of Market associates. 
  • Maintains quality customer service. 
  • Orders, receives, handles, and maintains inventory control of product. 
  • Effectively controls operating figures, gross profit, wage percent, and supply cost. 
  • Prepares daily department records, including cutting lists, shrink reports, order control guides, checklists, and effective scheduling. 
  • Ensures proper product level is maintained. 
  • Maintains daily sanitation of department, pricing, rotation, and price changes. 
  • Reduces meats according to Food Lion’s standards. 
  • Safely operates all Market Department equipment including slicer, grinder, scale, saw, knife, wrapper, and cuber. 

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain knife grip in order to cut primals and subprimals to specification. 
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 70 pounds as needed to stock and pull product for processing. 
  • Ability to disassemble, clean, and reassemble all equipment as part of the sanitation process. 
  • Ability to work for long periods in a working environment of 45° F or less. 
  • Ability to meet production standards established by Food Lion. 
  • Ability to use the in-store computer and scan system.
