Orscheln Products is currently seeking Primary Operators

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

High School degree or equivalent preferred but not required. 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Zero to two years industrial experience. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

With assignments from Department Leader/Set-Up or Team Coordinator, installs proper tooling and makes necessary adjustments to tooling and equipment to produce a safe, quality product meeting all specified standards.  Produces a specified product from his/her set-up. Makes minor adjustments and corrections to equipment to achieve required results.  (Major set-up and change over performed by department set-up).

  • After initial set-up or change-over of equipment and/or tooling makes adjustments to keep equipment producing acceptable product.  (Notifies set-up or leader for major adjustments or non-conformance concerns).
  • Makes sure all safety, quality and productivity requirements are met.  (Notifies set-up or Leader for corrections).
  • After any adjustments to tooling, equipment, gages or fixtures using proper devices inspect or test product for compliance to safety, quality and productivity requirements.  Record the results on process sheets, molding information sheet, or primary information sheet.
  • If proper adjustments can not be made, notify department set-up or leader for corrective action.
  • After all requirements of set-up and adjustments are met, the operator produces the desired product in the same manner as other assemblers.  Notify leader of any procedures that can not be properly performed.
  • Promote team work with mutual respect for all employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and workplace environment. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR KNOWLEDGE UPON QUALIFICATION IN POSITION:

  • Reading skills.
  • Math skills.
  • Able to write legibly.
  • Blueprint reading
  • Measurement tools
  • Computer skills
  • Assembly specific skills/qualification check sheets
  • Able to follow directions. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Repetitive hand/arm movement
  • Pushing pulling
  • Bending/stooping
  • Lifting up to 35lbs
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Limited sitting
  • Heat controlled environment/not air conditioned
