We have a full-time opening for a Patient Transport.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

A fantastic customer service opportunity with the 4th ranked hospital in the United States!

Ensure that transportation services are performed in a timely manner. Inform supervisor of activity level when additional support is needed and assist with resolution of those issues. Dispatch appropriate personnel to code blue calls. Monitor transport activities during transport to ensure transporters move from dispatches, to in process, to completion in a timely manner. Take initiative to meet the needs of customers with available resources and notify the customer when problems arise. Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control. Care for and maintain department equipment. Maintain required records and reports as directed. Prioritize requests-changes priority of requests to ensure timely response.

 

Uniform: Your uniform should fit well, with the shirt tucked in at the waist, and belts must be worn if necessary.  Comfortable shoes in good condition, without any noticeable patterns or bright colors.

 

 

Main Duties Include:

  1. Prompt, courteous and efficient of transfer of patients and specimens within the hospital
  2. A team player with other staff to accomplish optimum customer service, timely transportation, and patient satisfaction.
  3. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct
  4. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process.
  5. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, which includes the use of specialized equipment, quality control requirements, and preventive maintenance.
  6. Be able to assist lift teams with moving patients between beds/apparatus.

 

 

 

Skills Required:

Good Communication

The ability to stay on feet for extended periods of time and lift, push and move equipment and patients safely

Must have a strong sense of direction and the ability to understand the hospital layout

Able to work quickly and courteously

Team player

Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, which includes the use of specialized equipment, quality control requirements, and preventive maintenance
