Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator (EH&S)

Terms of Employment: Full Time

Pay: Based on Experience. Pay range is $19 to $22/hr

The EH&S Specialist is responsible for work in a wide range of EH&S disciplines. By developing, implementing and maintaining programs, the EH&S Specialist will help create and streamline the systems and procedures necessary to ensure the overall health and safety of employees. The ideal candidate works well on both self-initiated projects and those driven by concerns and issues reported by co-workers. The ideal candidate also takes pride in his/her analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal health and safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Apply expertise to the proper maintenance of the work environment in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations.
  • Responsible for matters related to environmental permitting (air, water, waste) safety, compliance monitoring, inspections.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs.
  • Review and maintain records of materials and chemicals used in manufacturing and R&D facilities.
  • Maintain HMBP and MSDS's.
  • Responsible for managing waste streams and understanding hazardous waste disposal and transportation regulations and requirements, including interpreting and ensuring compliance with environmental and transportation laws and regulations.
  • Monitor, measure, and maintain key data and report performance of key environmental metrics.
  • Interface with Local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies on permitting and related issues.
  • Conduct training on general safety, fire hazards, and occupational injury prevention.
  • Provide technical expertise company-wide on operations design and safety procedures.
  • Participate in accident investigations to determine root cause and prevention.
  • Apply safety policies to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, dangers, and hazards.
  • Develop and coordinate emergency response procedures.
  • Serve as Emergency Response Team Lead and Chair Safety Committee.
