We have a full-time opening for a Shift Supervisor.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Requirements

General Purpose:
To supervise daily shift operations maintaining up to 8 extrusion lines, and assist in the activities of production personnel engaged in the manufacturing function. Must stay familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this classification. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Essential Functions:
- GENERAL:
o Must be conscientious on attendance
o It is essential that 40 hours of work per week is accomplished
o Must have basic understanding of production processes within the company
- Tear down, clean out and set-up extrusions dies for 2 ½" to 3" Extruders
- Material Handling (mixing / blending of virgin or reprocessed materials with or without concentrate or powder colorants
- Die cleaning, maintenance, care and storage
- Basic understanding of the extrusion process of starting with raw material to finished goods
- Material identification and classification
- Wiring of dies with heater band
- Operation of maintenance of Burn Out Oven
- Operation of maintenance of 2 ½" to 3" Extruders
- Basic understanding of downstream equipment (Pullers, Saws, Cutters, etc.) operation and maintenance
- Basic understanding of encoders, foot counters / meters, rate meters, drives, pumps, compressors, coilers and punches
- Ability to start and maintain tubing profile extrusions and simple plastic extrusions
• Downstream equipment operation and maintenance
• Encoder, drive, counters, pumps, punches, coilers and compressor operation
• Ability to start and maintain intricate profile extrusions, including co-extrusions of varying material types

- SUPERVISORY:
o Production Staff (5-7)
o Maintain production lines
o Communicate expectations with opposing Shift Supervisors

- QUALITY CONTROL:
o Visualize, read and interpret blueprint drawings
o Use of dial calipers and measuring instruments

- SECONDARY OPERATIONS:
o Tear-down, Set-up, Start and maintain extrusion production lines
o Tow motor Operation
o Extruder Operating
o Parts Inspection

Responsible for all production documents:
- Extrusion Production Work Orders
- Extrusion Processing Data
- Accident Reports
- Documents applicable to Training Matrix

Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED mandatory for all new hires and 3-5 years of experience with custom profile extrusion operating and supervising. No special license or certification required.

Must have the ability to communicate orally and in written form, technical and non-technical information using standard English. Must be able to understand and respond to listener feedback and ask questions in two-way and group conversations.

Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use Algebra.
