Our Energy Management Technicians II maintain one of the most technologically advanced resort destinations in the world. Problem solving, superior technical skills, and possessing the ability to use good judgment under pressure are just some of the key attributes we are looking for in our Energy Management Technicians II.


Energy Management Technicians II at Universal Orlando are responsible for:

  • Scheduling all lighting and HVAC environmental systems site wide.
  • Assisting in responding to and resetting site wide life safety system calls.
  • Monitoring site wide utilities consumption including electric, water, sewer, and natural gas.
  • Performing necessary maintenance, installation and repairs to environmental control and energy conservation equipment and systems.
  • Identifying, implementing, and validating conservation plans to reduce utility consumption site wide.
  • Performing roughing-in and installation of electrical devices to include measuring, cutting and bending conduit, pulling wire and making up of electrical devices.
  • Locating, identifying, and troubleshooting electrical systems using multi meters and electrical locating devices.
  • Performing weekly and monthly utility meter readings and process documentation; validating data for accuracy.
  • Performing other energy conservation duties and EMCS contractor support as assigned.
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


 


To perform the role of an Energy Management Technician II successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High school degree or GED required. Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in related electronics or electrical trade required. 
  • Three to five years required electrical experience in industrial and commercial construction or a fast paced service company dedicated to electrical repair.
  • Five to seven years preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required to operate company vehicles. 
  • Must posses a current/valid Journeymen Electrical license or certification of training issued by either a State Regulatory agency or construction trade school.
  • Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Basic computer literacy skills to include: MS Excel and Word.


The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Energy Management Technician II job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to lift 25 pounds or more and will require repetitive motion.
  • The individual must work at heights greater than 4 feet.
  • The individual will perform maintenance or service on powerized equipment.


The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Energy Management Technician II job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly work with vibrating equipment/tools.
  • The individual will work with waste fluorescent lamps.
  • While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is: Loud Noise.
