Elitch Gardens is open May through October and offers 53 rides, live entertainment, shopping, dining and breathtaking views of Denver from every angle.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all roles of a Ride Operator and trainer, training and supervising team members, and ensuring that all assigned zones are being run safely and efficiently.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all roles and responsibilities of a Ride Operator and a Trainer.
  • Maintain and oversee the safe and efficient daily operation of assigned zone to include pre-opening, closing and different situation procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Directly supervise front line Team Members and Trainers within assigned zone.
  • Manage daily staffing and breaks while adhering to applicable Labor Laws.
  • Act as a communication liaison between Team Members and Area Supervisors.
  • Train Trainers.
  • Resolve Guest and/or Team Member conflict.
  • Conduct quality control checks and audits within assigned zone.
  • Maintain the cleanliness standard for assigned zone.
  • Perform other duties as necessary and as required based on the needs of the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess oral and written English skills and be able to read and understand operations manuals and complete required daily paperwork. Must have an attention to detail.
  • Must be working towards or have achieved a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.
  • At times, may be exposed to bodily fluids and will utilize chemicals and cleaning agents daily.
  • Some positions require working at elevated heights and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Required to work in various weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime (If over 18 years of age), and flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

  • Requires ability to stand and walk eight to ten hours for the shift.

  • Requires occasional carries up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck.
  • Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing and speech.
  • Possess 20/20 corrected vision. (Corrective lens, if required, must be worn while on duty).
  • Possess normal or average corrected hearing. (Defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range of 500HZ-4000HZ considered normal speech frequency range). (If a corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty).

* This is a seasonal position with a maximum period of employment being twenty six weeks. Hours will vary each week. During peak season hours will typically be 20 to 40 hours a week. The employment period is not guaranteed nor are the hours.
