JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for First Aid Team Members and ensuring that everything in the First Aid Department runs smoothly.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing all First Aid operations including scheduling, staffing levels and operating within a budget.
  • Maintaining appropriate levels of equipment and supplies to ensure a smooth operation of the facility, this includes keeping all equipment in working order.
  • Working with the safety department in a symbiotic capacity to cover “Safety In Charge” duties as well as other safety functions including inspections and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Has obtained as a minimum a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid and current State of Colorado Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic certification or license and completes all requirements for renewal, including continuing education classes or hours.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid and current American Heart Association or an accepted equivalent nationally standardized Healthcare Provider CPR certification card
  • Possesses and maintains a current ACLS provider certification.
  • Has a working knowledge of the Denver Metro Protocol’s
  • Possesses and maintains a valid and current state Driver’s License and park Driver’s License.
  • Ability to communicate well, verbally and in written form. Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagnostic form instructions. Ability to read and understand English language manuals, texts, and maps. Accurately discern and interpret directions, street signs, addresses, and landmarks. Ability to converse and comprehend English effectively. Ability to appropriately interview patient, family members, bystanders, and witnesses. Ability to document in writing, all relevant information in a prescribed format.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and balance heavy loads. Manipulate and operate tools, equipment, instruments, implements and etc. to the specifications, standards, etc, of the manufacturer or Patient Care Protocols.
  • Ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high stress situations.
  • Ability to calculate weight and volume ratios and read small print both under life threatening time restrictions.
  • Good manual dexterity, with ability to perform all tasks related to the highest quality of patient care and with ability to handle tools, implements, etc. in order to perform all tasks related to the duties of Health Services personnel.
  • Ability to walk, run, bend, stoop, and crawl on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to withstand varied environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold, moisture, dryness, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment with loud noises, flashing lights, confined spaces, low lights and/or potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Available to work overtime.
  • Available to work weekends and holidays.
