JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position applies to the individual whose function is to be responsible for the planning, executing, and accomplishment of the goal set forth for the age appropriate educational program.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Center Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure the health, safety, and well being of the children in care.
2. Develop goals and objectives for their designated age group.
3. Provide an orientation of the classroom and procedure for new Assistant Teachers and/or Floaters.
4. Attend and participate in Head Teacher meetings and full staff meetings.
5. Prepare and present bi-annual parent conferences with help from the Assistant teacher.
6. Develop and submit timely, creative lesson plans that are non-biased, gender free, and developmentally appropriate.
7. Complete classroom inventories quarterly.
8. Hold responsibility for all supplies and equipment within the classroom.
9. Greet each child and parent by name and be available for meetings with parents.
10. Be responsible for all daily activities including mealtime, bathroom, and/or diapering.
11. Attend annual mandatory professional development classes annually to meet the requirement from ODJFS.
12. Be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly classroom.
13. Undertake all tasks as assigned by management.
14. Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
HSD or equivalent, must be able to pass BCI and FBI background checks and must complete required courses within 60 days of hire: First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse, and Communicable Disease. Must obtain CDA within 12 months of start date. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs to change child diapers.
