The Bulk Clerk is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and ensuring that Bulk items are properly prepared, packaged and presented. Ensures cleanliness of Bulk area.

- • Provides a high level of prompt and friendly customer service.
- • Maintains a positive work environment.
- • Follows merchandising plan for the department.
- • Properly packages and scales bulk items; fills bulk bins.
- • Maintains a presentable and tidy bulk department at all times.
- • Prepares, wraps and prices bulk packaged products accurately and legibly.
- • Follows cleaning and sanitation program.
- • Assists Bulk Manager as needed.
- • Assists in maintaining all equipment in safe working condition.
- • Assists with the receiving, unloading and stocking of merchandise.
- • Rotates product and pay particular attention to code dates.
- • Has knowledge of weekly ad items; gives customers direction of product location throughout the store.
- • Answers phones.
- • General housekeeping in the department.
- • Other related duties as assigned.
- • Reliable and dependable; ability to follow direction.
- • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
- • Excellent verbal communication skills; outgoing and friendly demeanor.
- • Ability to perform repetitious activities.
- • Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude are essential to interact with customers and employees.
- • Able to work a flexible schedule.
- • Appropriate food handler’s certificate/card.
- • Requires standing and walking for entire shift; must be able to climb up a 2 step stool.
- • Ability to lift and carry product weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently; push and pull, squat and kneel with product weighing up to 25 lbs. and grabbing up to 40 lbs.
- • Requires good general vision to read food scale instructions and use a box cutter safely.
- • Must utilize a pallet jack to move product weighing up to 200 lbs.
- • Repetitive arm and hand movements; manual dexterity to wrap, package and stock product.
This job has specific physical requirements that may require you to lift up to 75 lbs, to operate machinary with moving mechanical parts, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stand of a long period of time, or push/pull heavy loads.
