Lumber Processor/Production Associate
PrideStaff in Sacramento is currently recruiting in behalf of a key client for a production associate. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabrication, utilizing machinery or hand tools, or custom woodworking. It is crucial that this individual be detail-oriented, with the ability to follow specific instruction and process relevant to Lean manufacturing operations. A positive attitude, desire to work safely and follow directed process is paramount.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Processing of inbound various types of lumber as required. Efficiently identify, process, and handle lumber.
? Set up planner to required job specs
? Set up gang rip to required job specs
? Identify and count inbound and processed (outbound) lumber
? Sort lumber for best yield based on job specs
? Tag and inventory excess lumber
? Keep Lumber area clean
? Meet daily production targets
? Learn, understand, and execute Lean Manufacturing practices
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
No formal education required although associates should have sound mathematical skills and problem-solving capabilities. The ability to measure using both tape measures and calibers is desired.
