The Time Warner Cable office currently seeks a Senior Manager of Remote Application Delivery (RAD) for our Technology and Network Operations Division. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
The Senior Manager of Remote Application Delivery (RAD) will play a critical role managing the daily operations and activities of NaviSite ' s RAD team as well as working with the Sales, Solution Architects and Marketing teams to drive new business and to grow the services being provided to existing customers. The Manager will be responsible for a staff of up to 10 Engineering professionals and works with a variety of customers that contract for support services of Citrix and Desktone, VDI and RDS. The Manager is required to work well with our Customers as well as all internal NaviSite teams.
Serves as a point of escalation for external customers as well as internal team members
Assist the operations team with general infrastructure and design standards, such as configuring server, configuring network storage systems, and install server virtualization software.
Manage resource commitments across multiple customers / projects
Monitor daily performance of all roles to ensure proper procedures are being followed
Manage team performance and efficiency and make recommendations for process improvements resulting in increased quality of service and customer satisfaction
Document process and procedures with an eye to streamlining operations.
Comfortable leading and influencing remote disparate groups
Works closely with the Marketing, Product Management and Sales teams to drive new businessJob Requirements
Extensive technical expertise with Remote Application Delivery VDI/RDS DaaS platforms such as Citrix, VMWare, Microsoft, Red Hat, and their supporting technical infrastructure (i.e. HW/OS, Hypervisor, Network, Storage).
7 + years ' experience with UNIX /Linux operating systems and services, especially Solaris 9 / 10, Red Hat 5, VMware, as well as, Windows Server 2003/2008 with 4+ year ' s performing in a managerial role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and teamwork skills
Understanding of enterprise application environments and application development / management tools
Proficiency with troubleshooting software and hardware issues
Knowledge of ticketing systems used for incident and change management
Familiarity with Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery
Preferred Qualifications:
Hardware: HP Servers (DL, ML Class servers), HP Storages (such as EVA, D, P and MSAs)
Expertise with server virtualization such as vSphere/ESX, KVM, Hyper-V, and XenServer
Experience with desktop virtualization products such as Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, VMware View, and Microsoft RDS
Strong L2 switching experience; comfortable with VLANs
Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols
Excellent troubleshooting skills around Linux\Windows file systems, TCP connectivity, networking and application integration
Crash Dump Analysis
Monitoring performance, raising concerns related to performance and resolving OS related Performance Issues by OS tuning and making hardware scaling recommendations
Basic backup Administration such as Evault, Avamar and HP Data Protector
Monitoring Tools such as Nagios, BMC Patrol and native SNMP Agents
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory, GPO, DNS, and DHCP services.
Strong knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting Windows and Unix Operating Systems
Setting up active directory domains\sites\DNS
Configuring and supporting terminal services on windows servers
-Setting up and supporting windows print servers and printers
Support and troubleshoot Microsoft IIS operations and performance issues
Setting up windows performance monitors and evaluating logs to determine performance problems or recommending steps to remedy a situation
Creating group policies in windows AD
Troubleshooting windows blue screens and documenting them
Advanced hardware troubleshooting and replacement on windows server systems
Project creation and execution on firmware upgrade\OS upgrades\hardware upgrade
Experience with maintaining Linux / Windows servers in a production environment.
Experience with EMC Storage Area Network devices, Data Switches, Brocade Switches, CX-Series Storages a plus.
Experience in DNS Management solutions.
Strong familiarity with Windows based Desktop Operating Systems such as XP and Win-7
Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
