The Senior Manager Application Development - Sales Automation Deployment participates in, drives, and approves the development, implementation, deployment and maintenance of quality technical sales solutions. This position provides full systems life cycle management leadership to ensure project alignment with business strategies and needs. He/She oversees and drives component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing of applications development and deployment initiatives to meet business requirements and to ensure compliance. This position provides strategic management of and contributes to applications development project plans and integrations and emerging technologies’ that impact on the organization. He/She manages resource allocations to ensure full accountability for decisions influencing the success of project deliverables, deadlines, and budgets. This position directs and inspires highly technical teams and promotes skills development and enhancement and innovative training. He/She applies a broad and deep hands-on IT knowledge (IE: Application Development, Architecture) to provide high level consultation and to manage strategic relationships. Senior Manager of Application Development reports to the Senior Director CRM Applications.

This Senior Manager Application Development - Sales Automation Deployment will have experience in deploying and managing large, complex sales force automation application projects.

Successful candidate attributes: 

  • Highly technical and experienced with state-of-the-art sales force automation solutions deployments such as Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and others
  • Demonstrates 10 or more years’ of technical (I.T.) experience including large scale project deployment
  • Testing of applications development and deployment
  • Manages, leads, approves and applies system analysis, design and deployment
  • Sets and demonstrates programming and software development strategy
  • Influences and directs information services strategy and governance
  • Defines, advises and influences use of emerging technologies
  • Oversees maintenance and support
  • Manages the deployment of projects with a multi-million dollar or greater budget 
  • Builds, leads and develops large teams of at least 15 direct reports
  • Must have experience deploying and supporting a sales automation solution for more than 2000 users  
  • Advocates/sells nontraditional or complex ideas 

The Senior Manager Application Development - Sales Automation Deployment will have extensive experience with state-of-the-art development of support software packages. The role includes building high performance technical teams, deploying and maintaining large sales force automation solutions, managing business process results, and reporting business metrics.

  Influences and Directs I.S. Strategy and Governance

  • Manages resources and people processes (e.g., Quality Performance Review [QPR], Career Development, Succession Planning, Salary Administration, Training, Staffing, etc.) to ensure the day to day administration of processes and formal procedures
  • Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual and team development
  • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals and maintain consistent practices across the organization
  • Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS’s policies and procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork

Education:

The desired Senior Manager Applications Development will possess a technical degree such as Bachelors’ or Masters’ degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field or the equivalent in education and work experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Are you a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
  • Must have 10 or more years’ of technical (I.T.) experience including project deployment
  • Must have at least 2 years in leading highly technical teams of 15-20 Application or Systems developers
