Qualifications:

Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency. Ability to relate positively with young children. Must be 19 years of age. Start time may vary but Must be able to work until closing, 6pm M-F.

Previous teaching or assistant preschool teaching position with a quality preschool or elementary school system is preferred. Certification or degree related to early childhood education is desirable but not mandatory.

Knowledge as a parent or in previous work experience of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children. Must be able to lift up to 35lbs. in connection with the handling of children ofr the facilitation of pregrams, child safety and potential emergency situations.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a young toddler class. Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis. Plans with the Director and implements the approved lession plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials. Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity. Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.

Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds. Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, naptime and bathroom activities. Maintain the Primrose School professional attitude and work behavior.

Upon Employment:

Must meet all Primrose Schools and local, state or national basic health requirements. FirstAid training and CPR training required within 30 days of hire. DHR Required fingerprint and background checks. Reports to the Director.
