Position Overview

  1. Meets or exceeds business objectives set forth in business plan.  This includes, but is not limited to net subscriber growth, churn, ARPU, CCU and EBITDA. Strives to maintain strong ESS  and Customer Sat scores                                                                                                                   
  2. Manages markets or districts with 500,000+ POPs.  This responsibility includes:
  • Sales distribution, planning and customer service
  • Employee relations and training
  • Assist GM with budget preparation and P&L management
  • Partner with General Manager, other Directors and appropriate finance manager to identify opportunities in cost improvement and all financial functions within the market or district.     
  1. Participates in business strategy by developing key strategies/programs/policies for sales, marketing, PR, finance, human resources, and customer operations by bringing field knowledge to the team.  Implements these key strategies/policies within the markets or districts.                               
  2. Directs the activities and oversees/ensures execution in the sales channels -- both in the retail stores as well as throughout the indirect channel; Works directly with Store Managers to ensure the success of the retail channel.  Oversees the activities of the Indirect Account Managers and other indirect channel employees.  Maintains focus on channel productivity as a major job responsibility.               
  3. Manages the human resources function for assigned markets  or districts including:
  • Maintains staffing levels that are within budget
  • Oversees activities related to hiring and staffing
  • Implements management practices, which ensure organizational effectiveness, sound employee relations, and training and development of market employees
  • Partners with the regional Human Resources team as required by company practices/policies Enforces practices and policies as required
  • Facilitates timely handling of personnel issues
  • Provides leadership, acts as a mentor and positively influences employee morale
  • Positively influences and motivates all employees
  • Provides performance feedback to employees on a regular basis; assists in career development      
  1. Develops and manages the distribution strategy for assigned market(s) or districts.  Balances customer growth, cost, customer attrition and market conditions with the overall corporate distribution strategy.  Participates as a member of the corporate sales team in defining channel distribution strategies. 
  2. Maintains the awareness of Cricket’s presence in the market(s) and districts.  Develops and maintains solid relationships with key business and government officials.  Ensure positive company image by working with these groups to integrate Cricket in each market.                                               
  3. Maintains a relationship with the Network Operations Department that allows for ongoing knowledge of and participation in network development, customer-related network issues and resolution of these issues.    
  4. Provides ongoing communication to all market or district employees.  Facilitates regularly scheduled all hands or staff  meetings in assigned market or district                                       
  5. Shares best practices with other markets and districts.                                      
  6. Proactively informs General Manager of key issues and challenges.                
  7. Asks for performance feedback regularly from peers and direct reports.          
  8. Other commensurate duties may be assigned as appropriate.                           

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Market or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Telecommunications; Sales Management, including retail focus
  • Minimum of 5 years proven sales management experience (retail focus)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing against P&L goals, budgeting, forecasting, and managing results.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in selecting, managing, and developing employees.
  • 5 years experience with back office systems (billing, call center, etc.)
  • Good PC skills

Preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience managing a market, area, or district for a wireless telecomm service provider of at least 500,000 pops.
