Job Summary:

This is a paid Summer Internship - you must be able to start the end of May 2014 and work through August 2014. Marriott Vacation Club is offering an exciting internship opportunity for current college students in our marketing department. The start date will be the end of May 2014, with the assignment expected to end in August 2014, based upon business need. This is a "paid internship" at our beautiful Marriott Ocean Watch Villas Sales Center in Myrtle Beach, located at 8500 Costa Verde Drive in the Grand Dunes area of Myrtle Beach. The internship will provide you with the opportunity to learn the marketing function in the exciting vacation ownership business. You will have the opportunity to learn and engage in many of the duties and responsibilities of the marketing team assisting with duties listed below.
  • Assisting Marketing Leadership with special projects
  • Working on different marketing channel strategies
  • Communicating with your current Owners on the phone
  • Promoting brand awareness of brand image internally and externally
  • Learning about various career options within the Marriot brand of companies


You must have the ability to work weekends and holidays. In addition, you will be working 5 days per week, 4 shifts from 4-8 pm, with 1 shift being from 12 pm - 8 pm.

Specific Candidate Profile / Education:

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Marketing, Tourism, Hospitality or Business related field with a GPA equal to or greater than 3.25 at an accredited school in South Carolina Experience:Hospitality, resort,customer service, retail or similar experience.

· Possesses a natural ability to learn new material, systems, and tools; not afraid to ask questions to gain understanding.
· Ability to be articulate in written content and oral communication with others in informal and formal settings.
· Ability to act in a consultative manner with business leaders and external vendor providers.
· Demonstrated professional demeanor and confidence when working alongside experienced professionals.
· Attention to detail specific to writing and reviewing written documents.
· Ability to independently conduct research, critically analyze new materials, and creatively solve problems.
· Ability to learn new systems/technologies quickly. Will work in various PC applications.
· Ability to work professionally and productively in a team environment.
· Ability to manage attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation experience a PLUS).
· Possesses strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· High degree of integrity in dealing with sensitive information.
