JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Industrial Electrician : $17 - $20 hrly (based on experience)
Department: Maintenance
Location: Bourbonnais
Reports To: Department Manager and Supervisor
Type of Position:Temp to Hire
SUMMARY
Maintain and upgrade existing electrical systems and repair electrical equipment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Receives work assignment from Supervisor on a daily basis and performs each task as directed
Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment and process related problems that affect productivity and quality and may result in operator safety issues for root cause and makes adjustments as able or contacts supervisor of maintenance for support as needed.
Repair motors, transformers, generators, and electronic controllers on machine tools and industrial robots
Installs and maintains wiring and other electrical devices
Run electronic tests, cleaning contacts or circuit boards, replacing worn components, performing inspections, perform preventative maintenance, such as oiling motors, bending conduit, running new wire and installing outlets, switches and other components
Troubleshoot problems during breakdowns to pinpoint the cause and fix any issues
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and work in small spaces
Possesses ability to learn crane and forklift operations for successful transportation of equipment
Works with supervisor in a helpful, cooperative manner; working the hours required to perform the job, including overtime and even with little notice to get the job done and meet customer delivery and quality expectations.
Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
Assures self and others working at or near, including visitors are safe and acting in a safe manner.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
Associates in Applied Science / Technical Certification/ Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent maintenance experience and in depth knowledge of PLC system programming/building/troubleshooting, electrical, hydraulics, mechanical and pneumatic repairs and troubleshooting. Changing tooling and material and making adjustments to meet first article acceptable parts with minimal waste or rework
Strong work history and especially a history of helpfulness and cooperation with all, taking initiative, troubleshooting, working independently, working whatever hours are needed, cooperative and excellent attendance.
Past experience with heavy manufacturing metal processing equipment i.e. slitting, stamping, forming, punching, casting, bar processing, etc. equipment.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The plant is not climate controlled so the temperatures can fluctuate from very cold in the winter to very warm in the summer. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and hearing protection is required. At a minimum, employees are required to wear hardhats, safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves while working in the plant.
