The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Sr. ETL Developer for our Information Technology Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary
This position has two focus areas:

- Design and develop data integration processes to populate data warehouses and marts

- Convert existing data integration jobs to Big Data technologies

Essential Job Functions:

- Designs and implements data integration jobs required to extract, transform, clean, and move data so it can be loaded into a data warehouse, data mart, operational data store, or a downstream application

- Converts existing data integration and jobs from Informatica (ETL) and Netezza SQL (ELT) to modern Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark

- Works with business requirements analysts to understand user requirements and source systems and to build source-to-target mappings and data transformation rules

- Defines and documents the metadata and technical specifications for data integration applications

- Adapts data integration processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements

- Follows established development processes, standards and best practices

- Conducts code reviews

- Follows all change and problem management processes

- Prepares documentation required for production deployment such as runbooks and release manuals

- Provides Level 2 " developer on call " support for data integration applications

- Provides accurate level of effort estimates for data integration development to project managers

- Evaluates and conducts proofs of concept for data integration and Big Data products and technologies

Job Requirements:

- Demonstrated competency in all phases of data warehousing projects, from inception to production deployment

- Experience with various data integration architectures, specifically ELT, ETL and Big Data

- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices

- Strong knowledge of SQL, including tuning and performance considerations in high-volume MPP environments

- Experience with massively parallel data warehousing DBMS platforms such as Netezza and/or Teradata

- Expertise with various tools and platforms used in data integration development, including UNIX, Shell Scripting, ETL tools such as Informatica, and enterprise scheduling tools such as Tidal

- Hands-on experience with Hadoop and associated technologies such as HDFS, MapReduce, Pig and Hive

- Ability to maintain a positive relationship with team members, team leads and business partners

- Willing to occasionally work non-standard hours as the need arises

- Comfortable interfacing and collaborating with a global delivery vendor and an offshore delivery model

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade data integration solutions

- 3+ years of experience working with high-end data warehousing MPP platforms such as Netezza or Teradata

- 3+ years of experience with SQL scripting for data integration using the ELT methodology

- 2+ years of experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage or similar

- 2+ years of experience developing data integration jobs in the Hadoop environment, including hands-on experience with HDFS, MapReduce, Pig and Hive

- Working knowledge of Java programming and Java development tools

- Working knowledge of Unix, Unix shell scripting, Perl and enterprise job scheduling tools such as Tidal, AutoSys or similar

- Experience converting data integration jobs from ELT/SQL to Hadoop/Big Data is a big plus

- Experience with real time stream processing frameworks such as Spark is a plus

Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
