About this job

This position is responsible for implementing and administering the Continuous Integration Deployment Automation solution for distributed applications within Optum Technology. The ideal candidate will have experience in administering Continuous Integration solutions, workflow tools, and deployment activities in a distributed enterprise Continuous Integration environment. Experience should include Java and .NET based applications with a variety of database types.


 


Primary responsibilities include:



  • Design, configure, implement and administer deployment automation systems, frameworks, and related infrastructure for Continuous Integration Services applications

  • Establish and update lifecycle models and enterprise grade deployment solutions in application deployment tools (e.g. HP CDA, MidVision, DeployIT)

  • Integrate automated deployment solutions for enterprise managed server offerings

  • Work with application teams as well as system owners to create and implement application deployment solutions

  • Collaborate with system engineers, build engineers, database administrators, and other system experts to resolve deployment related problems

  • Apply complex principles, theories and concepts of the Agile, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment disciplines and provide solutions to a wide range of complex problems

Requirements

 



  • 3+ years of experience in Continuous Integration application software build and deploy disciplines

  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • 3 + years of experience working in an enterprise Continuous Integration environment

  • Extensive and broad technology in the major *nix type environments (AIX, Linux, Solaris, etc) and Windows environments

  • 3+ years of development experience in workflow design, implementation and support

  • Experience with both ETL and API development and integration work

  • Bachelor's degree

Assets:




  • 3+ years of experience using CI server (ie, AnthillPro, Jenkins, TeamCity, TFS, etc)



  • 5+ years of experience in Java and .NET based application



  • 3+ years of experience scripting and automating builds using various languages and tools such as Maven, MSBuild, Ant, etc



  • 3+ years of experience developing applications in various IDEs such as Eclipse, RAD, IntelliJ, VisualStudio, etc



  • 1+ years of experience with code inspection and code quality reporting tools such as Sonar and Fortify



  • Experience using source control management tools such as SVN, Git,etc



  • Experience with unit testing tools such as JUnit, NUnit, XUnit, etc



  • Experience evangelizing and championing Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development and other Agile methodologies



  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead and mentor applications teams in SDLC best practices including Test Driven Development



  • Experience in the promotion and establishment of enterprise Build and Deploy tools
