About this job

Assessment of, consultation for, and preparation of patients for anesthesia.

Relief and prevention of pain during and following surgical, obstetric, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Monitoring and maintenance of normal physiology during the preoperative period.

Management of critically ill patients.

Diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic and cancer related pain.

Clinical management and teaching of cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation.

Evaluation of respiratory function and application of respiratory therapy.

Conduct of clinical and basic science research.

Supervision, teaching and evaluation of performance of personnel, both medical and paramedical, involved in perioperative care.
Experience: Minimum of four years of graduate medical education in the field of Anesthesiology is required as well as three years of training in clinical anesthesia; Clinical Base Year (CBY) and 36 months of clinical anesthesia training (CA-1, CA-2, and CA-3 years).



Licensure in the State of Nevada or eligibility for the licensure to be licensed. Just meet the criteria and standards established by Southwest Medical Associates Credentialing and the delineation of privilege requirements for all hospitals and survey center where they will practice. Care privileges will be: Anesthesia, Critical Care Anesthesia and Trauma Anesthesia. Must obtain a valid DEA and Nevada Rx license.

Requirements

- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge: Must have knowledge of preoperative care, evaluation and management in the dealing of Anesthesia in preoperative, intraoperative and post operative environments. Pediatric training required; Fellowship training preferred.



Skills: In addition to clinical skills, must possess excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication and professionalism with an emphasis on integrity, a commitment to excellence and ethical principles of clinical care. Ability to exercise confidentiality of patient information, informed consent, business practices and demonstration of respect and regard for the needs of the patients. Computer literate.
