Description




Reporting directly to the Vice-President Operations, the Plattsburgh Plant Manager will facilitate
the operational efficiency of the manufacturing facility while leading through example and
establishing a culture of continuous improvement in a safe working environment.


The Plant Manager is involved in both the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the
production stage (control and supervision). A large part of the function requires dealing
with people reporting to him in individual teams. However, the mother company will
provide full support for QA, HR, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing activities and Finance.


Main Duties



The Plant Manager assumes the following responsibilities :
  • To manage and drive site deliverables
  • To be responsible for both human and material resources.
  • To develop employee knowledge through training, team work and job flexibility.
  • To oversee the production process.
  • To ensure that production is cost effective.
  • To ensure that products produced are on time and are meeting quality standards.
  • To draft a time scale for each job.
  • To adjust work schedules as required.
  • To assume responsibility for equipment maintenance and assist in the selection of new equipment.
  • Liaising with other Senior Staff members from the mother company.
  • To implement company policies and goals.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety guidelines are respected by all employees.
  • To supervise and motivate employees.
  • To review the performance of subordinates and take appropriate corrective measures when necessary
  • To help the mother company drive new business opportunities.


Requirements


  • University or college degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or electronics.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing which included the direct supervision of employees.
  • Excellent communication and motivation skills.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner.
  • Client focused.
  • Computer and technical skills.
  • Relevant experience in personnel management.
  • Self-starter
